Section 46PE — Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986: Complaints against the President, Commission or a Commissioner

(1) This section applies to a complaint if any of the respondents to the complaint is: (a) the President; or (b) the Commission; or (c) a Commissioner. (2) If any complainant makes a written request to the President for termination of the complaint, the President must terminate the complaint, if the President is satisfied that all the affected persons agree to the termination. (3) If the President terminates the complaint under subsection (2), the President must comply with the notification requirements of subsections 46PH(2), (2A) and (3). (4) The President cannot delegate any of his or her powers in relation to the complaint except under paragraph 19(2)(b).
