Section 17 — Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989: Court counselling facilities to be made available

(1) A parent of an eligible child, or an eligible carer of an eligible child who is not a parent of the child, may seek the assistance of the counselling facilities of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia or a Family Court of a State. (2) An appropriate officer of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia or of the Family Court of the State must, as far as practicable, make the counselling facilities available.
