Section 129 — Competition and Consumer Act 2010: Safety warning notices about consumer goods and product related services

(1) A responsible Minister may publish on the internet a written notice containing one or both of the following: (a) a statement that consumer goods of a kind specified in the notice are under investigation to determine whether: (i) those goods will or may cause injury to any person; or (ii) a reasonably foreseeable use (including a misuse) of those goods will or may cause injury to any person; (b) a warning of possible risks involved in the use of consumer goods of a kind specified in the notice. (2) A responsible Minister may publish on the internet a written notice containing one or both of the following: (a) a statement that product related services of a kind specified in the notice are under investigation to determine whether: (i) consumer goods of a particular kind will or may cause injury to any person as a result of services of that kind being supplied; or (ii) a reasonably foreseeable use (including a misuse) of consumer goods of a particular kind, to which such services relate, will or may cause injury to any person as a result of such services being supplied; (b) a warning of possible risks involved in the supply of product related services of a kind specified in the notice.
