Section 133 — Competition and Consumer Act 2010: Liability under a contract of insurance

If: (a) a contract of insurance between an insurer and a person relates to: (i) the recall of consumer goods that are supplied by the person, or which the person proposes to supply; or (ii) the liability of the person with respect to possible defects in such consumer goods; and (b) the person gives information relating to any such consumer goods to: (i) a responsible Minister; or (ii) the regulator; or (iii) a person appointed or engaged under the Public Service Act 1999, or under a corresponding law of a State or a Territory; or (iv) an officer of an authority of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory; the liability of the insurer under the contract is not affected only because the person gave the information.
