Section 95W — Competition and Consumer Act 2010: Allowances to witnesses

(1) A witness summoned under this Part to appear at an inquiry is entitled to be paid such allowances for his or her travelling, and such other expenses, as are prescribed by the regulations. (2) The witness is entitled to be paid by: (a) if the witness was summoned by the inquiry Chair—the Commonwealth; or (b) if the witness was summoned on the application of a person—that person. (3) The regulations may provide for those allowances and expenses by reference to a scale of expenses for witnesses who attend before a court specified in the regulations.
