Section 416 — Corporations Act 2001: Meaning of property and receiver

In this Part: property, in relation to a corporation, means property: (a) in the case of a company—in Australia or outside Australia; or (b) in the case of a registered foreign company—in this jurisdiction or an external Territory; or (c) in the case of a registrable Australian body—in this jurisdiction but outside the body’s place of origin. Note: See section 9 (definition of property). receiver, in relation to property of a corporation, includes a receiver and manager.
