Section 123 — Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999: Basis of appointment

(1) A commissioner is to be appointed on a full-time basis or a part-time basis. (2) A commissioner appointed on a full-time basis must not engage in paid employment outside the duties of the commissioner’s office without the Minister’s approval. (3) A commissioner appointed on a part-time basis must not engage in any paid employment that, in the Minister’s opinion, conflicts or may conflict with the proper performance of the commissioner’s duties.
