Section 27 — Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999: Limiting the types of identification tests that approved officers may carry out

(1) The Secretary may, in an instrument authorising an authorised officer or detention officer as an approved officer for the purposes of carrying out identification tests under this Part, specify the types of identification tests that the approved officer may carry out. (2) Such an approved officer is not an approved officer in relation to carrying out an identification test that is not of a type so specified. Note: This clause corresponds closely to section 5D of the Migration Act 1958.
