Section 303CM — Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999: Interpretation of CITES provisions

(1) Except so far as the contrary intention appears, an expression that: (a) is used in the CITES provisions without definition; and (b) is used in CITES (whether or not it is defined in, or a particular meaning is assigned to it by, CITES); has, in the CITES provisions, the same meaning as it has in CITES. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the CITES provisions consist of: (a) this Division; and (b) any other provision of this Act in so far as that other provision relates to, or to permits under, this Division.
