Section 303ER — Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999: Object

The object of this Subdivision is: (a) to comply with Australia’s obligations under: (i) the Biodiversity Convention; and (ii) CITES; and (b) otherwise to further the protection and conservation of the wild fauna and flora of Australia and of other countries; by requiring the marking of certain live specimens for the purposes of identification. Note: See Article 8 of the Biodiversity Convention.
