Section 514F — Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999: Appointment

(1) A person is to be appointed as the Director by the Governor-General by written instrument. (2) Before the Governor-General appoints a person as the Director, the Minister must be satisfied that the person has qualifications and experience in connection with national parks or the conservation and management of biodiversity that make the person suitable for the appointment. (3) The appointment is on a full-time basis. However, a person appointed as the Director may also hold an office or be employed in the Australian Public Service on a part-time basis, subject to this Division.
