Section 67E — Family Law Act 1975: Urgent orders

If, in proceedings under this Subdivision in relation to the birth of a child: (a) the court is of the opinion that the applicant is in immediate need of financial assistance; but (b) it is not practicable in the circumstances to determine immediately what order (if any) should be made (whether because the applicant has not yet given birth to the child or otherwise); the court may order the payment, pending the disposal of the proceedings, of such periodic or other amount as the court considers appropriate.
