Section 15 — Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Act 2021: Seniority

(1) The order of seniority of the Judges of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) is as follows: (a) the Chief Justice; (b) the Deputy Chief Justice; (c) Senior Judges, according to the days on which their appointments as Senior Judges took effect; (d) Judges (other than Senior Judges), according to the days on which their appointments as Judges took effect. (2) If 2 or more commissions of appointment as Judge took effect on the same day, those Judges have such seniority in relation to each other as is assigned to them by the Governor-General.
