Section 257 — Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Act 2021: Protection for Registrars

(1) In the following cases: (a) in conducting a conference that: (i) is with the parties to property settlement proceedings; and (ii) relates to the matter to which the proceedings relate; (b) in exercising a power of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) referred to in section 254; the Chief Executive Officer, or a Senior Registrar or Registrar of the Court, has the same protection and immunity as a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) has in performing the functions of a Judge. (2) This section does not limit any other protection or immunity the Chief Executive Officer, or such a Senior Registrar or Registrar, has (in relation to such a conference or otherwise).
