Section 306J — Migration Act 1958: Self-incrimination

(1) An individual is not excused from producing a document under section 306D, 306E or 306F on the ground that the production of the document may tend to incriminate the individual or expose the individual to a penalty. (2) However: (a) any document so produced; and (b) any information or thing (including any document) obtained as a direct or indirect result of a document so produced; is not admissible in evidence against the individual in any criminal proceedings (except proceedings for an offence against section 137.1 or 137.2 of the Criminal Code that relates to this Act or the regulations).
