Section 49B — Privacy Act 1988: Transfer of complaints from the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security

An individual is taken to have complained to the Information Commissioner under subsection 36(1) in respect of action taken by ACC, the Australian Federal Police, AUSTRAC or the Department of Home Affairs (within the meaning of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986) if the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security transfers all or part of the complaint to the Information Commissioner under section 32AG of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986.
