Section 1061JJ — Social Security Act 1991: Crisis payment not payable in addition to disaster relief payment

(1) A crisis payment is not payable to a person in respect of an extreme circumstance if the person is qualified for an AGDRP, a Disaster Recovery Allowance or other disaster relief payment (whether under this Act or otherwise) in respect of the same extreme circumstance. (2) However, this section does not affect a person’s entitlement to a crisis payment in respect of an extreme circumstance if: (a) the person has claimed the crisis payment; and (b) the person subsequently qualifies for an AGDRP, a Disaster Recovery Allowance or other disaster relief payment in respect of the same extreme circumstance.
