Section 1061ZZCS — Social Security Act 1991: Person may request notice to be corrected

(1) If a person considers that a notice given to the person under this Division or under the corresponding provision of the Social Security Student Financial Supplement Scheme 1998 or of the Student Assistance Act 1973 as in force at a time before 1 July 1998, was not, or is no longer, correct in a significant respect, the person may, by writing, request the Secretary to correct the notice. (2) The person must make the request within 14 days after the date when the notice was received by the person or within such further period as the Secretary allows. (3) A request must set out the information that is considered to be incorrect and the grounds on which the person considers the information to be incorrect. (4) If a request is received by the Secretary, the Secretary must arrange, as soon as practicable, for it to be considered and for written notice of the decision on the request to be given to the person.
