Section 512 — Social Security Act 1991: Death of PP child—continuation of qualification for 14 weeks

(1) If: (a) a person is receiving parenting payment for a dependent child; and (b) the child dies; and (c) following the child’s death, there is no other dependent child of the person who is a PP child; the person is qualified for parenting payment in respect of the child, for the period of 14 weeks that starts on the day of the child’s death. (2) If a person is qualified under subsection (1), the person’s parenting payment rate during the 14 weeks is to be worked out as if the child had not died.
