Section 549 — Social Security Act 1991: Waiting periods

(1) A youth allowance is not payable to a person who is qualified for youth allowance while the person is subject to a waiting period. (2) For the purposes of this Part, a person may be subject to the following waiting periods: (a) a liquid assets test waiting period (see sections 549A, 549B and 549C); (aa) an ordinary waiting period (see sections 549CA and 549CB); (b) a newly-arrived resident’s waiting period (see sections 549D and 549E).
