Section 592C — Social Security Act 1991: Adjustment of person’s austudy payment rate

If: (a) a person is qualified for payments under this Division; and (b) the person does not elect under subsection 592(2) not to receive payments under this Division; the rate of the person’s austudy payment during the bereavement period is worked out as follows: (c) during the bereavement rate continuation period, the rate of austudy payment payable to the person is the rate at which the austudy payment would have been payable to the person if the person’s partner had not died; (d) during the bereavement lump sum period (if any), the rate at which austudy payment is payable to the person is the rate at which austudy payment would be payable to the person apart from this Division.
