Section 956 — Social Security Act 1991: Absence from Australia

During any period of absence from Australia: (a) throughout which Division 2 of Part 4.2 applies to the person; and (b) that is before the end of the person’s portability period for carer allowance (within the meaning of that Division); the person does not cease to be qualified, under section 953, 954 or 954A, for carer allowance merely because the care and attention of the care receiver or care receivers is not provided in a private home that is described in whichever one of paragraphs 953(1)(d) and (2)(d), 954(1)(d) and 954A(2)(d) is relevant.
