Section 61A — Social Security (Administration) Act 1999: Deduction at request of recipient—other payments

Text of the provision Official document

(1) This section applies if a person asks the Secretary: (a) to make deductions from instalments of a social security payment payable to the person; and (b) to pay the amounts deducted to a business or organisation nominated by the person. (2) The Secretary may make the deductions requested by the person, and if the Secretary does so, the Secretary must pay the amounts deducted to the business or organisation nominated by the person.
