Section 114 — Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986: Commencement of payment of certain allowances

(1) Subsection (2) applies to: (a) clothing allowance; (b) attendant allowance; and (c) recreation transport allowance. (2) An allowance to which this subsection applies payable to a veteran by reason that the veteran is suffering incapacity from a war-caused injury or a war-caused disease is payable: (a) if application for the allowance is made within 3 months after the date on which the determination was made under this Act determining that the injury was a war-caused injury or the disease was a war-caused disease, as the case may be—as from the date on which that determination was made; or (b) in any other case—as from the date on which the veteran’s application for the allowance in respect of that war-caused injury or war-caused disease is received at an office of the Department in Australia.
