Section 196CA — Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986: Authority not required to investigate certain requests

(1) The Authority may decide not to carry out an investigation in respect of a request for a review made under paragraph 196E(1)(e) or (f) if: (a) the request does not state the grounds on which the review is sought; or (b) the Authority considers that the request does not identify sufficient relevant information: (i) to support the grounds on which the review is sought; or (ii) to otherwise justify the review; or (c) the request is vexatious or frivolous. (2) If the Authority decides not to carry out an investigation, it must inform the person or organisation in writing of the decision, stating the reasons for it.
