Section 58K — Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986: Age, invalidity and partner service pensions, income support supplement and veteran payment generally portable

(1) A person’s right to commence, or to continue, to be paid: (a) an age service pension; or (b) an invalidity service pension; or (c) a partner service pension; or (d) income support supplement; or (e) a veteran payment; granted to the person is not affected by the fact that the person leaves Australia. Note: Rent assistance is not payable to a person who is absent from Australia otherwise than temporarily. If a person is absent from Australia temporarily, rent assistance is not payable for any part of the absence in excess of 26 weeks. (3) Subsection (1) has effect subject to section 58M (claim based on short-term residence).
