264 Criteria for accreditation Before granting accreditation, the product certification accreditation body must be satisfied that the applicant— (a) has the necessary ability to perform all or any of the functions specified in this subpart competently, impartially, consistently, transparently, and in an accountable manner, having regard to— (i) the technical competence of the applicant to perform the functions for which the applicant wishes to be accredited; and (ii) the applicant's systems, and in particular whether those systems will allow the applicant to perform the functions for which the applicant wishes to be accredited; and (b) complies with the prescribed criteria and standards for accreditation.
