Section 451 — Building Act 2004: Chief executive must review building code

451 Chief executive must review building code (1) The chief executive must, within 3 years after the commencement of this section,— (a) review the building code; and (b) prepare for the Minister a report on the review that includes recommendations setting out any amendments to the building code that are necessary or desirable. (2) In conducting the review, the chief executive must consider— (a) the extent to which the building code complies with and meets the requirements of this Act; and (b) the extent to which the building code is stated in sufficient detail to provide clear guidance on performance standards that buildings must meet to ensure compliance with the building code.
