“ 31 Chief executive responsible for Building Act 2004 may grant exemptions “ (1) The chief executive of the department of State responsible for the administration of the Building Act 2004 may, in writing, and for any period that the chief executive specifies, exempt any specific gas installation, gas appliance, fittings, person, or thing from any requirement imposed by regulation 12 if the exemption is required as a result of the grant of a waiver or modification of the building code, or a compliance document (within the meaning of the Building Act 2004), in relation to an application for a building consent that is referred to the chief executive under section 70 of that Act. “ (2) The chief executive may amend or withdraw an exemption granted under this regulation in order to prevent a gas hazard. “ (3) The chief executive may grant the exemption subject to any conditions that the chief executive thinks fit. ”
