13 Act a code (1) Except as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, this Act has effect in place of the rules of the common law and of equity as to the guardianship and custody of children. (2) In matters not provided for by this Act, the High Court continues to have all the powers in respect of the persons of children that the High Court had immediately before the commencement, on 1 January 1970, of the Guardianship Act 1968.
