Section 212 — Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989: Notice of warning or caution

212 Notice of warning or caution (1) Every person who gives a warning pursuant to section 210 of this Act, or a formal Police caution pursuant to section 211 of this Act, to any child or young person shall, as soon as practicable after giving that warning or caution, give written notice specifying the offence in respect of which the warning or caution is given, and recording the fact that a warning or caution has been given in respect of that offence, to the child or young person and a parent or guardian or other person having the care of the child or young person. (2) Where practicable, every such notice shall be given in language that can be understood by the child or young person and the parent or guardian or other person having the care of the child or young person.
