216 Enforcement officer to explain rights to child or young person who is to be charged with offence Subject to sections 233 and 244 of this Act, where— (a) An enforcement officer is questioning a child or young person in relation to the commission or possible commission of an offence by that child or young person; and (b) That enforcement officer makes up his or her mind to charge that child or young person with an offence,— the enforcement officer shall explain to that child or young person— (c) Except where the child or young person is under arrest, the matters specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of section 215(1) of this Act; and (d) The matters specified in paragraphs (c) to (f) of section 215(1) of this Act.
