280 Court may refer case to Care and Protection Co-ordinator to determine whether matter should be dealt with under Part 2 (1) If, at any stage of the hearing of any proceedings under this Part of this Act in respect of a young person, it appears to the Court that the young person may be in need of care or protection (as defined in section 14 of this Act), the Court may— (a) Refer the matter to a Care and Protection Co-ordinator under section 19(1)(b) of this Act; and (b) Adjourn the proceedings pending the outcome of that reference, and if an application for a declaration under section 67 of this Act is made in respect of the young person, may adjourn the proceedings until that application is determined. (2) Where any proceedings in respect of any information laid against a young person for an offence are adjourned pursuant to subsection (1) of this section, the Court may, at any time, discharge the information under section 282 of this Act.
