317 When supervision with residence order ceases to have effect (1) Every order made under section 311(1) of this Act shall cease to have effect when the term of the order expires or the young person is sooner released from the custody of the chief executive pursuant to section 314 of this Act. (2) Where an order made under section 311(1) of this Act expires or is cancelled pursuant to section 316 of this Act, custody of the young person shall revert to the person having custody of the young person immediately before the order was made. Compare: 1974 No 72 s 49(1)-(7), (9); 1983 No 129 s 13 Subsection (1) was amended, as from 1 October 1999, by section 13 Department of Child, Youth and Family Services Act 1999 (1999 No 82) by substituting “ chief executive ” for “ Director-General ” .
