Section 388 — Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989: Financial and other assistance in respect of children and young persons subject to orders made under this Act

388 Financial and other assistance in respect of children and young persons subject to orders made under this Act (1) The chief executive may, from time to time, make grants or provide financial or other assistance— (a) To any organisation or person referred to in any order made under section 86 or section 91 or section 283(k) or section 298 or section 307 of this Act for the purpose of assisting that organisation or person to carry out the terms of the order: (b) To any parent or guardian or other person having the care of the child or young person to whom the order relates for the purpose of assisting that parent or guardian or other person to care for the child or young person: (c) To any young person to whom the order relates. (2) The chief executive may, from time to time, make grants or provide financial or other assistance to any person or organisation having the care of a child or young person pursuant to any order under this Act relating to the custody or guardianship of the child or young person. Subsections (1) and (2) were amended, as from 1 October 1999, by section 13 Department of Child, Youth and Family Services Act 1999 (1999 No 82) by substituting “ chief executive ” for “ Director-General ” . Subsection (1)(a) was amended, as from 1 November 1989, by section 4 Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Amendment Act 1989 (1989 No 70) by inserting “ or section 91 or section 238(k) or section 298 or section 307 ” .
