Section 81 — Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989: Placement of child or young person under order made under section 78

81 Placement of child or young person under order made under section 78 (1) Where, pursuant to an order made under section 78 of this Act, a child or young person is placed in the custody of any person (being the chief executive or an Iwi Social Service or a Cultural Social Service or the Director of a Child and Family Support Service), that order is sufficient authority for that person to place the child or young person— (a) With a member of the child's or young person's family, whanau, or family group: (b) Where the child or young person is placed in the custody of the chief executive, in a residence. (2) Subject to subsection (1) of this section, the person in whose custody a child or young person is so placed may, from time to time, during the currency of the order, change the placement of the child or young person. Subsection (1) was amended, as from 1 October 1999, by section 13 Department of Child, Youth and Family Services Act 1999 (1999 No 82) by substituting “ chief executive ” for “ Director-General ” .
