Section 10A — Crimes Act 1961: Criminal enactments not to have retrospective effect

10A Criminal enactments not to have retrospective effect Notwithstanding any other enactment or rule of law to the contrary, no person shall be liable in any criminal proceedings in respect of an act or omission by him if, at the time of the act or omission, the act or omission by him did not constitute an offence. Compare: 1954 No 50 s 43B; 1980 No 21 s 22 Sections 10A and 10B were inserted, as from 1 October 1985, by section 2 Crimes Amendment Act (No 2) 1985 (1985 No 121).
