173 Attempt to murder (1) Every one who attempts to commit murder is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 14 years. (2) [Repealed] Compare: 1908 No 32 s 188 Subsection (2) was inserted, as from 2 July 1999, by section 4 Crimes (Home Invasion) Amendment Act 1999 (1999 No 75). Subsection (2) was repealed, as from 30 June 2002, by section 164(b) Sentencing Act 2002 (2002 No 9).
