71 Officer of court must not act as lawyer in court proceedings (1) Except as provided by this Act or the rules or by any other enactment, an officer of the court must not directly or indirectly act as a lawyer or an agent for any party in any proceedings in any court. (2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000. Compare: 1947 No 16 s 20
