Section Sch2-185A — District Court Act 2016: Jurisdiction of District Court

185A Jurisdiction of District Court (1) The District Court has jurisdiction to exercise any power conferred by sections 182 to 185 in any case where— (a) the occasion for the exercise of the power arises in the course of civil proceedings properly before the court; or (b) the amount of the claim or the value of the property or relief claimed or in issue is not more than $350,000; or (c) the parties agree, in accordance with section 81 of the District Court Act 2016, that the District Court has jurisdiction to determine the proceedings. (2) For the purposes of sections 86 to 88 of the District Court Act 2016, an application made to the District Court under any of sections 182 to 185 is deemed to be a proceeding.
