354 Jurisdiction of District Court in relation to jury trials (1) This section applies if the trial of a proceeding is to be a jury trial and the level of trial court is the District Court. (2) Only the District Court at a place appointed under section 10(5) of the District Court Act 2016 has jurisdiction to conduct a jury trial. (3) Only the District Court presided over by a District Court Judge who holds a warrant under section 14 of the District Court Act 2016 to conduct jury trials has jurisdiction to conduct the jury trial or exercise any of the powers of the court under subpart 8 of Part 3 in relation to the proceeding.
