Section 17 — Fair Trading Act 1986: Offering gifts and prizes

17 Offering gifts and prizes No person shall,— (a) In connection with the supply or possible supply of goods or services or with the promotion by any means of the supply or use of goods or services; or (b) In connection with the sale or grant or the possible sale or grant of an interest in land or with the promotion by any means of the sale or grant of an interest in land,— offer gifts, prizes, or other free items with the intention of not providing them or of not providing them as offered.
