Section 1 — Family Proceedings Act 1980: Short Title and commencement

1 Short Title and commencement (1) This Act may be cited as the Family Proceedings Act 1980. (2) Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section and in section 190(3) of this Act, this Act shall come into force on the 1st day of October 1981. (3) Sections 144 to 146 and 149 of this Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.
