Section 144 — Family Proceedings Act 1980: Certificate by Secretary of External Relations and Trade

144 Certificate by Secretary of External Relations and Trade In any proceedings under this Part of this Act, a certificate signed by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade or by a Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade, stating that a country is a Convention country, or was a Convention country on a date specified in the certificate, shall be conclusive evidence that the country is or was a Convention country. Section 144 was amended, as from 1 December 1988, by section 15(6) External Relations Act 1988 (1988 No 159) by substituting the references to the “ Secretary of External Relations and Trade ” for references to the “ Secretary of Foreign Affairs ” . Those references were further amended, as from 1 July 1993, by section 3 Foreign Affairs Amendment Act 1993 (1993 No 48) by substituting the words “ Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade ” for the words “ Secretary of External Relations and Trade ” .
