53 False statement in application for paternity order Every person commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000 who, in any application for a paternity order under this Act, makes any statement that, if made on oath in the proceedings, would amount to perjury as defined in section 108 of the Crimes Act 1961 .
