Section 61 — Family Proceedings Act 1980: Application of principles

61 Application of principles In proceedings under this Part of this Act (other than proceedings under section 79 or section 82 of this Act), the Court shall apply the principles set out in sections 62 to 66 of this Act, and any other rules of law that are not inconsistent with those principles. Section 61 was amended, as from 1 July 1992, by section 9(1) Family Proceedings Amendment Act 1991 (1991 No 144) by substituting the words “ section 79 or section 82 ” for the words “ section 79, section 82, or section 90 ” , and amended, as from 1 July 1992, by section 9(2) of that Act by omitting the words “ and in sections 72 and 73 ” . See section 259 Child Support Act 1991 (1991 No 142) as to savings in respect of outstanding maintenance liabilities.
