Section 144 — Immigration Act 2009: Application to Tribunal for cessation of recognition as refugee or protected person

144 Application to Tribunal for cessation of recognition as refugee or protected person (1) A refugee and protection officer may apply to the Tribunal for a determination as to whether a person's recognition as a refugee or a protected person should cease if the original determination to recognise the person as a refugee or a protected person was made by the Tribunal (or by the Refugee Status Appeals Authority under the former Act). (2) On an application made under subsection (1), the Tribunal may cease to recognise a person as a refugee or a protected person if 1 or more of the circumstances referred to in section 143(b) apply in respect of the person.
