Section 2 — Immigration Act 2009: Commencement

2 Commencement (1) This Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, except as provided in subsections (2) to (4). (2) Sections 30 , 31 , 60 , 100 , 104 , 111 , 120 , 149(1)(e) , 278 , 283 to 291 , 312 , and 400(l) come into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council (being a date not earlier than the date appointed under subsection (1)); and 1 or more orders may be made appointing different dates for different provisions. (3) Section 477 comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council (being a date not earlier than the second day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent). (4) Sections 475 , 476 , and 478 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.
