Section 307 — Immigration Act 2009: Purpose of Part

307 Purpose of Part The purpose of this Part is to establish a tiered detention and monitoring regime in order to ensure— (a) the integrity of the immigration system through providing for the management of persons who are liable for deportation or turnaround; and (b) the safety and security of New Zealand where a person who is liable for deportation may constitute or be suspected of constituting a threat or risk to security.
