383 Chief executive may designate places outside New Zealand where entry permission may be granted (1) The chief executive may— (a) designate places outside New Zealand (for example, ports, airports, or offices of the Department that are overseas) where an immigration officer may grant entry permission to a person before the person travels to New Zealand; and (b) determine the class or classes of persons that may be granted entry permission at a designated place. (2) The chief executive must publicly notify any designation under this section by making available a description of the designated place, free of charge, at— (a) offices of the Department; and (b) New Zealand Government offices overseas that deal with immigration matters.
